Tobias Zikmund is a painter and public artist living in Fargo, North Dakota. His paintings focus on division and modification of the landscape, while his work in public art focuses is often event-based, focusing on themes of gathering and exchange. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an Emphasis in Painting from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2022.

 

Tobias exhibits in various local and regional exhibitions, such as the Rourke Art Gallery and Museum’s Midwestern Invitationals. He has received grants from the North Dakota Community Foundation and Springboard for the Arts. Projects of his include the annual Great Mail Art Exchange, the Armchair Invitational, and the Moorhead Microgallery, located in the gardens of the Rourke Art Gallery and Museum. His interests include public art, rural vitality, community building, leadership development for artists and youth, and language and cultural exchange.
